Celebrate Independence Day with a bang! We are proud to partner with Jack London Park, our local Sonoma Valley High School Dance Team and the Community Center to present the 4th of July Jack London Picnic Party and Parade!
With our parade group will be the Jack London Park hay wagon carrying our picnic items, former owners of Sonoma Market, Dale and Erin Downing, and Jack London and his wife lookalikes. Store Director Al Minero and Assistant Store Director Stacia Rhoden will be on board, decked out in their 2016 Trashion Fashion attire, and children will also be on the wagon, participating in one of Jack London’s favorite childhood activities—blowing bubbles!
Jack London was a lover of nature and would picnic throughout the park under the trees. This parade commemorates the 100th anniversary of Jack London, who died in 1916. In honor of our local hero, we hope you enjoy a limited edition Jack London water bottle that will keep you hydrated this 4th of July. We will have eight grocery carts filled with water bottles and twenty volunteers and associates to help pass them out.
The parade will begin at Sonoma Square at 9 a.m. on the 4th of July, followed by a picnic party in the square. Look for our wagon near the beginning of the parade, and be sure to stick around to enjoy the fireworks at dusk!
Thanks to great events like this, Sonoma has been ranked in the top 10 Towns to Celebrate the 4th of July by Travel & Leisure. Come out and join the fun—we hope to see you there!
