This flavorful, spiced mulled wine will keep you warm and toasty even on the coldest nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle red wine (750 mL)
  • 1 cup port
  • 1 cup brandy (optional)
  • ½ cup raisins
  • ½ cup dried figs
  • ½ cup blanched almonds
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 8-10 cardamom seeds
  • 5 cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • Rind of 2 oranges

Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a pot, heat slowly on the stove and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat and refrigerate for 24 hours. Strain out ingredients (optional) and reheat to serve.
