Smokin’ Hot Chickpea Snacks

With just enough sweetness to balance the heat, this spicy snack is sure to perk up your taste buds.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15.5 ounces each) garbanzo beans, rinsed and dried
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1½ tablespoons Spiceologist Smoky Honey Habanero Rub
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1½ teaspoons orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Preparation

Heat oven to 350º F. 

In a work bowl, drizzle oil on the garbanzo beans and toss to coat. Separately, mix together Smoky Honey Habanero Rub and salt, then toss with the garbanzo beans until evenly coated.

Spread seasoned garbanzo beans onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until lightly browned and crispy. Remove from the oven and mix in the orange zest and honey. Spread back on the baking sheet and bake for 5 more minutes.

Let cool to room temperature, stirring occasionally to prevent them from sticking together. Extra chickpea snacks can be stored at room temperature.
