At Nugget Markets, we’re committed to working towards a greener, more sustainable future every day, in every store. That said, we’ve got some cool news to share! Cool Davis, a community network aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve overall quality of life, recently recognized Nugget Markets for receiving the highest level of partnership with the City of Davis Green Business Partners program. 

The Davis Green Business Partner program requires sustainability leadership in recycling and solid waste diversion, water conservation, energy reduction, pollution prevention and general sustainability practices. We are honored to be one of just a few businesses in Davis to receive the Gold Level, and the only grocery store to be listed as a Green Business Partner!

Davis city council members were present at the awards ceremony, where Jeremy Patin, Nugget Markets’ sustainability coordinator, accepted the award. After the ceremony, all the businesses that were recognized were introduced at the Wednesday night Davis Farmers Market. 

We’re proud of the work our associates have done to demonstrate a culture of sustainability in all of our stores, and to be recognized at the highest level in a city known around the world as a leader in sustainability is truly an honor.
