These mangos are dark to medium green even when ripe, sometimes with a faint yellow or pink blush. Since the color doesn’t change according to ripeness, the best way to check is by touch—if the skin gives slightly when touched, it’s probably ready to eat!
So how do you eat Keitt mangos? Whether plain, in a salad, on yogurt or blended into a smoothie, you can’t go wrong eating them raw. These mangos also set off savory dishes very well and hold up in many baking recipes.
The regular season for Keitt mangos is late summer to early fall, so look for these fantastic fruits in store August through September.
