School’s back in session and we’re excited to ring in the new school year by continuing to support our local students, teachers, schools and educational foundations! Since 1926, Nugget Markets has been committed to supporting our community, with a special focus on youth education and empowerment.
One of our primary ways of helping local schools is through our Scrip and eScrip programs, available in the Sacramento, Marin and Sonoma areas. Through these programs, we’re able to partner with our guests to support the nonprofit organizations and schools that mean the most to them. Our program is absolutely free, with no cost to our guests or their beneficiaries, and is as easy as showing your registered Community Card each time you shop.
We also support our local schools and educational foundations through event sponsorships and donations. Just recently, we were thrilled to sponsor the SchoolsRule Marin Gala (the primary fundraiser supporting children enrolled Marin County public schools) and are also excited to sponsor Sonoma Valley Education Foundation’s Red & White Ball later this month. During California’s budget crisis, we even held matching fund drives to help support many of the educational foundations in the Sacramento region, including Davis School Foundation, West Sacramento School Foundation and Buckeye School Foundation.
Did you know Nugget Markets also partners with Yolo Farm to Fork to support local school garden programs? This year, Nugget Markets gave garden grants to elementary schools in Davis, Woodland and West Sacramento!
Along with scholastic support, Nugget Markets works to empower youth through community programs like Hands4Hope in El Dorado County, Boys and Girls Clubs in Vacaville and Sonoma, the B Street Theatre youth program in Sacramento, little leagues throughout the region, American Youth Soccer Organization and many more.
As part of our focus on youth and education, we also host Nugget Markets Store Tours, a fun foodie field trip everyone can enjoy!
