With their sandy soil and cool temperatures, the rugged hills of west Marin County are definitely not the typical example of California wine country. Pey-Marin Vineyards, started in 1999 by veteran winemakers Jonathan and Susan Pey, deals in organically farmed grapes and produces just 270 cases of their wine each year.
