Blood Oranges: Their rich red-orange color comes from cancer-fighting compounds like lycopene and cryptoxanthin.
Clementines: Tasting just like candy, these little balls of goodness supply vitamin C, and folate—a B vitamin crucial for healthy pregnancies and reducing heart disease and cancer risk.
Grapefruits: In just under 40 calories, half a grapefruit supplies more than half of vitamin C needs, some water-soluble fiber along with lycopene in pink varieties, which is known to ward off prostate cancer.
Lemons & Limes: These richly flavored citrus fruits contain limonene, a type of flavonoid with antioxidant properties that protect the immune system. Use lemon juice and zest in salads, sauces and marinades.
Tangerines: Besides supplying a wealth of vitamin C like other citrus fruits, tangerines also contain flavor compounds called terpenes that also have health-boosting properties.
