Cheese, please! While we have a special place in our hearts and stomachs for all the amazing cheeses we offer, every once in a while there are some that stand out from the rest. In this case, we’re talking about a few first place winners from this year’s American Cheese Society competition!
Cheese, please! While we have a special place in our hearts and stomachs for all the amazing cheeses we offer, every once in a while there are some that stand out from the rest. In this case, we’re talking about a few first place winners from this year’s American Cheese Society competition! We’re proud to carry many of the winners from this year’s competition in our specialty cheese departments, including these three California champions.
Point Reyes Toma - 1st place in Farmstead Cheeses, Cow’s Milk: This versatile cheese from Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company is ideal for almost any occasion, any wine pairing and any audience. Made entirely on the farm from start to finish, this classic farmstead cheese is buttery and rich with a slight salty finish.
Cypress Grove Purple Haze - 1st place in Flavored Cheeses, Goat’s Milk: The fine cheese alchemy of Cypress Grove pays off with their uniquely addictive Purple Haze. Made with their signature handcrafted chèvre plus lavender and wild fennel pollen, this delicate cheese has the perfect balance of floral, acidic, rich and clean flavors.
Chevoo Aleppo-Urfa Chili & Lemon - 1st place in Marinated Cheeses, Goat’s Milk: This fresh goat cheese and olive oil infusion features the bold flavors of allepo and urfa chili peppers, plus a citrusy lemon tang. The hint of heat is mild enough not to overpower the velvety, hand-blended chèvre, creating a well-balanced flavor experience.
Look for these and other ACS award-winning cheeses in our specialty cheese department! Selection varies by store.
