Spicerack Syrah: Although 2015 was a difficult grape growing year, you would never know it from tasting this wine. Reduced yields led to very small berries that were hand-harvested and produced an intense dark purple color and superb, savory aromatics in the wine. Aged for nearly a year in oak, the wine has integrated tannins and a rich texture, with a smooth but subtle mouthfeel.
Valley of the Moon Pinot Blanc-Viognier: This unique blend of 85% Pinot Blanc and 15% Viognier is a new offering from this longtime Sonoma producer. Full of peach, pineapple and honey notes, it’s a light and refreshing wine with a silky mouthfeel that’s great for enjoying with sushi, shellfish or roasted poultry.
J Rickards Old Vine Zinfandel: Zinfandel grapes have been planted in the vineyards the Rickards family now farms in Alexander Valley since as early as 1908. This wine also incorporates Zinfandel grapes grown in Dry Creek Valley and Sonoma Valley to build in layers of complexity. Dominated by ripe blackberry fruits, but not overly ripe or sweet, this wine is perfect with rustic Italian fare.
Enkidu JM Cuvée: A classic Southern Rhone blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre produced in Sonoma County, California, this ripe, rich wine shows aromas and flavors of dark black cherry, roasted coffee and a hint of savory herbs. The Sonoma mountain fruit provides a nice firm backbone to the wine’s lush, fruity side. Enjoy with a hearty piece of grilled lamb.
Resolute Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay: Made from Chardonnay grapes grown on Sonoma Mountain, this wine has a bright acidity that amplifies and lifts its citrus fruit, minerality and nutty tones. Partial fermentation in some new French oak barrels rounds out the flavors and mouthfeel on the finish.
