Made with tea (usually green or black), organic sugar and a live kombucha culture, this popular health beverage is thought to help stimulate metabolism and maintain a healthy immune system. Don’t be scared by the SCOBY – a rubbery disk-like substance that floats in Kombucha. The Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeasts (SCOBY) feeds on the sugar to produce all the nutrients, such as amino acids, vitamins and lactic acids contained in this beverage.
