Get your cowboy boots ready—the first ever Yolo Crisis Nursery Barn Dance is just around the corner! Nugget Markets is proud to sponsor this fabulous fundraiser which benefits Yolo Crisis Nursery, a local nonprofit that offers emergency childcare to nurture children, support parents and preserve families. Join us in celebrating and supporting the cause on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 6-10 p.m. at Davis Central Park.

So, what can you expect at this rip-roarin’ event? Guests will enjoy live music from the award-winning MoonShine Crazy, tasty eats from local food trucks, Buckhorn and Bacon Mania, and a chance to win a trip to Nashville, all while supporting a great cause! Tickets are $25 each and all proceeds benefit Yolo Crisis Nursery.

This nonprofit is a place of hope and help for families in Yolo County, providing early intervention services in a safe environment. Day and night, 365 days a year, Yolo Crisis Nursery provides safe, temporary care for children five and younger free of charge—no child is turned away. They also provide a variety of other services including specialized infant day care and preschool, family life skills programs, support for foster and kinship programs and free care packages for families. Their vision is that every child in Yolo County grows up in a safe, loving and stable family.

The impact Yolo Crisis Nursery has on our community is significant. They provide temporary care for at least 120 children of Yolo County families at their four-bed facility each year, and provide at least 1,600 slots for short-term emergency care. All families served receive supportive family preservation-oriented case management services, and at least 80% will not become clients of Child Protective Services. Beyond that, Yolo Crisis Nursery works with families for one year to ensure their successful transition out of crisis, the children remain safe and the family stays whole.
