Dyeing eggs is a fun way to celebrate Easter with the whole family. If you like all the colors but not all the chemicals, try making your own dyes using everyday foods from your pantry! Not only do these dyes create unique and vibrant colors, they’re also completely natural.

By adding just a little bit of vinegar, the natural colors in many foods and spices can be very effective at coloring eggs. For instance, did you know boiling purple cabbage for a brief time results in a great green dye, but adding vinegar turns it red?
Try a few of these easy recipes for au naturel Easter egg dyes, or experiment and discover some exciting dyes of your own!
1 – 24-Carrot: Boil carrots and yellow onion skins, then add 1 tablespoon of vinegar.
2 – Night Sky: Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to canned blueberry juice.
3 –Peachy Keen: Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to canned beet juice.
4 – Hello, Sunshine!: Combine turmeric spice with 1 tablespoon of vinegar, salt and water.
5 – Golden Egg: Boil spinach, add red cabbage at the very end and remove before it starts to turn red (about 1 minute). Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar.
6 – River Rock: Combine fresh blueberries, grape jam and 1 tablespoon of vinegar.
7 – Silver Linings: Boil plum skins and blackberries, then add 1 tablespoon of vinegar.
8 – Daffodil: Combine yellow onion, green tea and curry powder, then add 1 tablespoon of vinegar.
9 – Robin’s Egg: Boil red cabbage and fresh beets, then add salt and 1 tablespoon of vinegar.
10 – Copper Top: Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to brewed coffee.
11 – Berry Blue: Boil red cabbage, then add 1 tablespoon of vinegar and salt.
12 – Blush Pink: Boil fresh beets, then add 1 tablespoon of vinegar and salt.
