These are, by far, my favorite all–natural, handmade potato chips! They’re made from fresh Bakersfield potatoes, which are hand sliced, slow cooked in safflower oil, and then lightly salted with French Mediterranean sea salt.

They’re made from fresh Bakersfield potatoes, which are hand sliced, slow cooked in safflower oil, and then lightly salted with French Mediterranean sea salt. The potatoes are never pre–treated, so the chips sometimes vary in color and slightly in taste, based on the season. During the winter, when the sugar content of potatoes is at its peak, Rusty ’s Island chips will be darker and have a nuttier flavor. Chips made during the summer have a golden brown hue and a more buttery taste.
