The Botran family has been making rum in Guatemala for six decades. This Reserva won a Gold Medal at the Ministry of Rum's 2010 tasting competition. It is a blend of rums aged 5 to 14 years using the same multi-barrel aging process as their Solera.
These two are practically made for each other! Sauvignon Blanc and Chevre cheese are a natural pairing because the wine's acidity cuts through the creaminess of the cheese. Some of our favorite California Chevres got a make-over! Enjoy new flavors like PsycheDillic, Sgt. Pepper, and Herbes de Humboldt. All handmade in Humboldt county, with all-natural unique ingredients. Pair these scrumptious Cypress Grove chevres with this Benziger, a beautifully crisp aromatic wine made from organically grown grapes.
Whether you’re flying solo or celebrating the day of love with your plus-one, this wine makes for a perfect companion. Wine Spectator gives it 90 points and describes it as, “Elegant and focused with creamy vanilla and apple aromas. Rich yet crisp flavors of baked pear and cinnamon bread.” Gruet Blanc de Noirs NV, $14.99, save $3 through March 31, 2012.
A lot has been said recently about the rise of organic wines, but quite a bit of confusion remains about what makes a wine “organic.” In fact, there are four separate types of these wines: organic wines, wines made from organically grown grapes, biodynamic wines and wines with no sulfites added.
Wines with bubbles — some are dry, some are sweet, and all are guaranteed to lift your spirits. These offerings are the ideal way to start a meal, pairing wonderfully with appetizers while refreshing your palate.
Zardetto Prosecco, Prosecco DOC (Italy): We love Proseccos because theyare intensely fruity, with aromas and flavors of apples, pears and citrus. They are more delicate on the palate than some other sparkling wines and are just as fun! And you can enjoy them more often because they are so affordable. This one is currently our best deal! 750ml. $9.99, Save $8

The holidays are always a busy time of year, and one of the season’s culinary challenges is pairing wines with foods, especially during those big Thanksgiving meals when there is such a diversity of food and people. While there is no exact science to pairing wine and food, we offer you two great resources to make life easier for you.
Just as wine drinkers vary their selections depending on the season, so do beer drinkers. And there is almost nothing more exciting to beer drinkers than the wide array of winter seasonal brews. Don’t get me wrong; summer is a big beer-drinking season, but in general the focus is on playfulness and crispness. Winter seasonal beers fear nothing. Bigger is better, and here at Nugget Markets we feature a barrage of seasonal brews that will keep your palate engaged and free of the dull of winter frost. If you like more roasted malts, bigger hops, or even spiced ciders, we have the selection that will keep your winter season bright. Check out the breweries below for some of our favorite seasonal brews:
These wines are specially designed to pair with the final course, namely everyone's favorite — dessert.
