For 24 hours from April 30 to May 1, Nugget Markets team members and other excited supporters participated in this year’s Relay for Life at UC Davis. Overcoming gale-force winds all day, everyone had an absolute blast supporting a fantastic cause!

This year's Relay for Life was a return to its outdoor roots on the UC Davis campus. Because it was outside, there were plenty of exciting activities and features, including a draft horse team pulling a wagon around the track and offering free rides to anyone who wanted to take a leisurely lap with their feet up. There was also Zorb Ball bouncing around throughout the afternoon, where participants could crawl inside a gigantic pillow ball and run around, playing soccer and bouncing off one another! In the afternoon, a gigantic slip 'n slide helped participants chill out, and a 2 a.m. showing of the movie “Inside Out” kept everyone up and having fun!

Several survivors took part in the event throughout the day, and the Luminaria remembrance presentation helped everyone remember the importance of celebrating, remembering and supporting all those affected by cancer. Here’s to another successful Relay for Life!
