Local Love: Nixie Sparkling Water

Sugar-free sparkling water is a healthy, refreshing way to beat the heat of summer, and now there’s an organic option from one of our favorite locally owned refreshment producers, Nixie Sparkling Water. Fun Fact: The name Nixie comes from the founder’s nickname and is also another name for a mermaid!

Nicole Bernard Dawes, CEO and founder of Nixie, is the same woman based out of Larkspur, California, who brought us the organic snack options of Late July. She’s applied the same passion for clean food to these sparkling organic beverages made without mystery fillers. Enjoy everything from the Classic flavors of lemon, grapefruit or lime to the Teas & Botanicals combos made with infused caffeinated green or black tea and organic botanicals like zingy ginger or refreshing mint.

Nixie Watermelon Mint Mojito

Ingredients: 

• 1 can Watermelon Mint Nixie
• 1 handful of mint
• 1 ounce rum
• Ice, as needed

For Garnish:

• Watermelon wedge
• Mint leaves

Preparation:

Muddle mint leaves at the bottom of a glass. Fill glass with ice, pour in the rum, stir and top with Watermelon Mint Nixie. Garnish with a watermelon wedge and extra mint on the rim if you’re feeling fancy!
