Cline Viognier: Viognier is not the easiest grape to grow and make wine out of. It’s very finicky about where it grows, soil type, humidity levels and a host of other things, yet somehow the folks at Cline Cellars seem to have mastered it with this wine year after year. Enjoy with a spicy stir fry or curried Thai dishes.
Cline Ancient Vines Zinfandel: This wine is made from some of the oldest planted zinfandel vines in California—the vineyard was planted more than 100 years ago! Dry farming methods combined with the old vines produce very small concentrated berries bursting with flavor. This is our summer go-to wine to pair with pizza or barbecue.
Mer Soleil Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands Reserve: The Santa Lucia Highlands is one large, east-facing, sloping bench land, just outside of Monterey but close enough to be cooled by breezes coming off the bay. Chardonnay grapes love that type of climate, and this is a prime example of the style of wine produced in this terroir.
David Bruce Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast: David Bruce was one of the early pioneers on the California winemaking scene, and while he no longer makes the wines, his vision and spirit run through this one. There is no mistaking this for anything other than a classic pinot noir. It’s ideal for pairing with grilled salmon.
