While we’re not in it for the glory, we’re honored to announce that Nugget Markets has been named this year’s Corporate Champion for Neighborhoods & Communities! The Sacramento Business Journal presented their 2023 Corporate Citizenship Awards last week, and we’re both thrilled and humbled to be in the company of so many fantastic organizations and individuals supporting worthy causes in our region.
Taking care of our community has been a central part of Nugget Markets’ culture since our father-and-son founding team, Will and Mack Stille, opened our very first store in 1926. Now nearly a century later, the fourth and fifth generations of our family business are still championing philanthropy across all the communities our stores serve.
“We believe it is our responsibility to support the communities that have supported our business for five generations,” Kate Stille, Nugget Markets’ Chief Impact Officer and co-owner, said. “We are fortunate to have the resources that allow us to support nonprofit organizations that fall within our four philanthropic pillars.”
Nugget Markets’ Philanthropic Pillars:
- Empowering Future Generations
- Fortifying our Neighborhoods
- Cultivating Environmental Change
- Inspiring Philanthropy
“We partner with hundreds of nonprofit organizations every year,” Kate explained. “Each year we do our best to rotate our support to a variety of different organizations that serve the broader population.”
