Celebrate Independence Day with a bang! We are proud to partner with Jack London Park, our local Sonoma Valley High School Dance Team and the Community Center to present the 4th of July Jack London Picnic Party and Parade!

Like most of the chefs and restaurant owners who shop our Markets, Rob Della Santina shops the perimeter of the store first, makes a beeline for produce and lingers in the seafood and meat departments, considering his options when it comes to feeding his family of five. Rob and his father, Dan Della Santina, are co-proprietors of Della Santina’s Trattoria on the Plaza, home of “Tuscan Soul Food,” while Rob and his wife, Nicole, run the adjacent wine bar, Enoteca Della Santina.
In February, Sonoma Market and Lovin’ Oven teamed up to prepare and serve appetizers at the annual Sweetheart Gala, a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Sonoma Valley that is the most important fundraiser of the year for our local Club.
This week we made a big announcement – one that was bittersweet for both of us. We have reached an agreement with Nugget Markets, another family-owned and independent Northern California grocer, to sell both of our stores. The sale is set to close March 31, 2016, and we will both continue on in the business for six months to ease the transition.
While California's Dungeness crab season has been delayed indefinitely, we are happy to report that we've been able to source crab from safer waters in Alaska. We look forward to bringing our local crab in as soon as possible, meanwhile, we invite you to enjoy the same fresh, cleaned, steamed and cracked crab that you have come to love this holiday season.
One of our most beloved holiday traditions at Sonoma and Glen Ellen Village Markets is our history of donating 100% of all proceeds from See's Candies sales to a local nonprofit. We are one of the very few places in Sonoma Valley where you can find the full line of See's beautifully packaged treats, and we pride ourselves on donating thousands of dollars each year thanks to your purchases for friends, neighbors, teachers, and others.
At Sonoma and Glen Ellen Village Markets, we pride ourselves on bringing you the best our region has to offer, whether it is from our own kitchen or one of the many artisan growers, bakers and makers that we support.
October is a great month to explore what’s new and fun in the beer aisle. With 35 feet of beer coolers and a bunch of new products, we now boast the largest selection of beers in the city of Sonoma! Where should you start?
I think we can all agree that “pumpkin” anything signals Fall, but in our book, figs are actually the bridge between the sultry days of Summer and that moment when we first feel the cooler, drier air of Fall.
There’s nothing quite like this time of year, when vines are overflowing with ripe fruit and when the sunshine is abundant. There’s a hum in the air as kids go back to school, fall sports get into the swing and of course, the festivals.
While we probably have at least six more weeks of warm weather to enjoy, for many people, Labor Day marks the end of summer. If gathering with family and friends around the barbecue is a part of your ritual, you’re not alone. At Sonoma and Glen Ellen Village Markets, our meat departments are always hustling to give you the freshest and most delicious grilling options for the long weekend.
The Red & White Ball is a highlight of the season, and it's this Saturday night! Al is dusting off his white suit (complete with red pocket square) and the rest of us are polishing our dancing shoes. If you are attending the Ball as a DIYer (dance party only tickets) we'd love to help you with a beautiful picnic and of course, a bottle of vino or two.
Rosé season has arrived. Sonoma Market customers love the stuff. We have an excellent selection of rosé wines, both imported and domestic. The most popular rosé wines sold at Sonoma Market are from France. French rosés have that rare combination of lightness, complexity, delicacy, structure and balance. They are beauty in a bottle/glass.
Theatre under the stars is as old as, well, theatre. But when you are under the stars, in the midst of the hallowed grounds of Jack London State Park, nestled between the ruins of the famed author’s wine cellar, we agree: it’s the Best Night Ever.
Just by shopping at our markets and using your Community Card, you have made the nonprofit and education community in Sonoma Valley nearly $55,000 richer! If you don’t have a Community Card yet, stop by Customer Service and sign up. Simply choose a nonprofit and/or school to receive proceeds, and keep shopping our markets. Up to 5% of your total grocery bill will be donated annually.
There’s something that’s deliciously decadent about a picnic. A simple sandwich and fixings are elevated by dining alfresco, a cheese and charcuterie spread goes from hors d’oeuvre to feast when you add a bottle of vino and a Wine Country view.
