Italian Sausage Alfredo

This decadent dish calls for radiatori, a pasta with deep ridges perfect for holding sauce, but any shape will do! Serve with garlic bread and Caesar salad on the side.
Ingredients
- 1 pound (about 3 links) Fresh to Market Mild Italian Sausage
- Olive oil
- 2 red bell peppers, medium-diced
- 1 yellow onion, medium-diced
- ½ pound button mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1½ teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 jar (15 ounces) alfredo sauce
- 1 jar (15 ounces) roasted garlic alfredo sauce
- ½ cup chopped Italian parsley
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 1 pound radiatori pasta
Preparation
Sear sausage in a large stockpot, then remove and set aside.
Add olive oil to pot and sauté bell peppers, onion, mushrooms, garlic, and Italian seasoning for about 6 minutes. Slice sausage into thin rounds, return to pot, and cook 6 minutes.
Pour both sauces into pot, then add parsley and lemon juice. Reduce heat to low and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In a separate pot, bring lightly salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions to al dente. Strain, then pour pasta into stewed sausage and alfredo and simmer for 4–5 minutes.
