Blue Cheese & Bacon Burger

The best hamburgers are often the simplest. A true classic, these all-beef patties are grilled and topped with smoked bacon and crumbled blue cheese. Delicious!
Ingredients
- 1½ pounds ground beef
- Cracked black pepper, to taste
- Sea salt, to taste
- 8 slices smoked bacon
- ½ cup crumbled blue cheese
- 2 ripe tomatoes, sliced
- 4 green leaf lettuce leaves
- ½ small red onion, sliced into rings
- 4 hamburger buns
Preparation
Season ground beef with cracked black pepper and sea salt and mix together, being careful to not overwork the meat. Form mixture into 4 evenly sized patties, then set aside on a plate.
Fry bacon over low heat until crispy. Rinse lettuce leaves in cool water, then pat dry. Slice red onion and tomatoes. Set these ingredients aside.
Heat grill to medium. Cook hamburger patties for 4–5 minutes per side, turning once. While the burgers are cooking, toast hamburger buns on the grill to add a little extra flavor.
Assemble burger by placing the lettuce, tomato, red onion and bacon on the bottom half of the bun. Place the burger patty over the bacon, then finish with blue cheese. Add additional condiments as desired.
